Eastern Buzzard

I came across quite a nice surprise today as I was going uphill to the campus. I saw a nice Eastern Buzzard (Buteo japonicus) perching on a bare tree just by the roadside. Since the tree was in the hill below, the bird could be seen almost at the eye level from the road. It was already about 5pm and the sun was setting. I just hope that it was the bird's roosting site, so I can go back again later. I did a quick sketch in my sketchbook but I don't have a scanner in my room. Instead, I'll post an old sketch of a female Eastern Buzzard that I saw in Thailand back in 2007.
