Mrs Hume's Pheasant

Recently, I've been working on the theme of birds and flowers, especially wild orchids which are my most favourite flowers. Up until now, I've already finished 3 pieces of watercolour paintings. Hopefully, I'll be able to produce enough works to start an exhibition or presenting my works to publishing companies by the time I go back to Thailand. I never really thought about taking arts seriously as a career but I came to think about it more each day. So here it is, the first one to be published in this blog, a male Mrs Hume's Pheasant (Syrmaticus humiae burmanicus) walking through the mixed oak and pine forest floor with blooming Spathoglottis pubescens which is a ground orchid found in hill evergreen forest in northern Thailand in the background. It was inspired by my own sighting of this magnificent and globally endangered pheasant at Doi Angkang in February 2007. Hope y'all like it!

  1. was about to ask if you paint anything else like landscape or flowers too now that it's so good to see your flowers. I know nothing about it but I sat quietly once next to a friend who painted an animal with watercolours. I was just WOW (like seeing your blog) now. I cross my fingers for you and hope this goes professionally :))
